about me
Hi, I’m Grace DeVoll.
I use she/her pronouns and I live, work, and play in Los Angeles. I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #127464) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #10128) working under the supervision of Jami Winkel (LMFT #44036) at The Relational Center. I do this work because I love having meaningful, creative conversations with people, and because I believe in the potential of a more sustainable and nurturing society, built on the pillars of empathy, community, and connection.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a Creative Writing Emphasis from Stanford University and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. While pursuing my Master’s degree, I completed my first year of clinical training in Narrative Therapy at Miracle Mile Community Practice, and subsequent training in Relational Gestalt Therapy at The Relational Center, where I now work as a Counselor in Residence.
Practicing and training at The Relational Center offers me the chance to build a sustainable private practice in a values-aligned, community-focused environment while supporting my community through sliding-scale work. It also offers my private practice clients the opportunity to supplement our individual or couples work with group therapy, classes, and community support at no additional cost. All of my group therapy offerings are run through The Relational Center, including Bodies and Trauma: a 12-week trauma education course designed to equip clients with knowledge and tools to begin to heal trauma in connection with others as a complement to other forms of healing.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a creative professional in the entertainment industry, and I am passionate about helping artists and creatives find fulfillment and balance despite the specific stressors that creative careers can exert on their mental health. I also love helping couples and families build resilient, sustainable, meaningful relationships, explore ethical non-monogamy, and navigate difficult periods of life or transition. Other areas of interest to me include trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and career.
Outside of my therapy practice, I enjoy swimming in all kinds of water, traveling, trying new restaurants, and being a devoted dog mom. I make four recipes really well, only cook when I’m having people over, and am happiest when my home is full of friends and loved ones talking over each other, laughing, and refilling their plates.
