about me
Hi, I’m Grace DeVoll.
I use she/her pronouns and I live, play, and work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #141476) in Los Angeles. I do this work because I love having meaningful, creative conversations, and because I believe in the potential of a more sustainable and nurturing society, built on the pillars of empathy, community, and connection.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a Creative Writing Emphasis from Stanford University and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. While pursuing my Master’s degree, I completed my first year of clinical training in Narrative Therapy at Miracle Mile Community Practice, and subsequent training in Relational Gestalt Therapy at The Relational Center. Practicing in these training communities allowed me to hone the postmodern lens through which I approach therapeutic work while supporting my community through sliding scale work.
My favorite part of being a therapist is working with clients to explore how the specific language they use and narratives they tell about their lives interact with the biology of their nervous systems to shape their lived experiences. I do some of my best work helping high-conflict couples find clarity and peace, and work to build more nurturing and sustainable relationships. I also love helping adults with ADHD learn to manage their executive functioning challenges while honoring the natural rhythms and wisdom of their particular neurobiological makeup. Other areas of interest to me include trauma work, anxiety, and career/life transitions.
Outside of my therapy practice, I enjoy swimming in all kinds of water, traveling, and trying new restaurants and workout classes. I make four recipes really well, only cook when I'm having people over, and am happiest when my home is full of friends and loved ones talking over each other, laughing, and refilling their plates.
